Chapter 2: Temple columns – Stony support

The column as the main architectural element of the Greek temple; the fundamental principle that certain elements support and others are supported and Greek architecture as a manifestation of equilibrium and proportionality.

Construction of Greek columns and beams. Columns with superstructure of short stone beams. The proportionality between columns and columns intervals is always the same, regardless of the size of the temple.
