Norsk Form and the Norwegian Design Council and Architecture Centre merged in 2014 to become the Norwegian Design and Architecture Centre. As part of the exhibition work, DOGA has introduced a new visual profile and the new name Design and Architecture Norway.

“We asked our target groups what they would like from us and their feedback was used to create the new DOGA profile and content. DOGA aims to be a unique centre of expertise that brings together professionals in the field. We want to contribute to learning and facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration,” explains Gomnæs Ugelstad.

Helping design and architecture contribute to value creation

Design and Architecture Norway is an organisation that falls under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries, is part of the public support system for increased innovation and a driving force behind sustainable value creation through design and architecture.

“We are lucky that Norway has a government that understands the value of design and architecture in the restructuring and innovation of the country. I am especially grateful that we have our own meeting place at Hausmanns gate 16 in Oslo, where we can bring together various professionals, engage in experimentation and development and, equally as important, facilitate learning,” adds Gomnæs Ugelstad.

”DOGA aims to be a unique centre of expertise that brings together professionals in the field. We want to contribute to learning and facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration.”

CEO, DOGA

DOGA is a driving force behind sustainable value creation through design and architecture.

The disciplines of design and architecture represent knowledge and methods that are particularly important in restructuring and innovation. Their focus is on people and they develop solutions and environments based on the needs of people.

“Our mission is to show that Norwegian design and architecture plays a key role in reshaping the Norway of tomorrow. We are also working actively to profile Norwegian design and architecture abroad. We see increasing international interest, so the opportunities are definitely there,” concludes Gomnæs Ugelstad.

The new DOGA in a nutshell:

  1. Our new name is Design and Architecture Norway - DOGA.
  2. We are a centre of expertise for equipping Norway for the future through design, architecture and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  3. Together with the field of design and architecture, we aim to contribute to innovation and restructuring in Norway and accomplish this by uniting, experimenting and learning.
  4. We work both nationally and internationally. We are also establishing a ‘power centre’ for design and architecture here at DOGA.
